Rainbow Valley / Wind In Willows – Split tape

Rainbow Valley / Wind In Willows
Split tape
Chemical Tapes, 2013

Since the previous post was about Karelia, why not to recall another very loved project – Wind In Willows. Anton Filatov has amazing tape released last year and since then continued to observe the world around. Music of his Britain colleague flows from the same source, kindly and willingly filling all the voids that comes its way. No wonder that two similar sounding project (by the way, both named after the books) have found each other. Music of smooth movement, peaceful pastime, sleeping contemplation... No suddenness. Dense, soft and elastic audio stream of plasma flows like a wave of light and heat from some cozy dwarf star, secludedly coiled inside a colorful nebula, like a kitten in a basket with balls of yarn. Each sound stretches into infinity and even when the music fades, it seems that the most subtle echoes of its overtones still hanging in the air, as if it could soak up the music and permanently sealed it in its entirety.

Music on this tape – my preferable kind of drone ambient, so easy and transparent, that it can be listened forever. To sleep in the middle of the day, read science fiction at night, drink warm milk at the dawn... You can write indefinitely about this music because it creates space, that has very beneficial impact on the imagination. You can possibly not to write anything at all about this music, because it is already full of everything. Full completion, contemplative dreaminess, easy gliding and unobtrusive presence. Music, which you breathe like air.
